Teenagers and Social Media

Social media is a modern era communication tool to connect people together. It includes all connectivity tools like Facebook, what’s up, Instagram, snapchat etc. social media is fit in to Famous term Global word, now distance is nothing for peoples to be connected. Technology has both advantages & disadvantages.

Social media is playing a very important role to keep in touch with peoples, peoples use these apps to get in touch with your love ones who are far from them or working abroad. This is one of the cheapest& fastest tools of communication which increase the interest of peoples in it. Social media is also a source of information for peoples, Islamic hadith, current affairs, history all these stuffs you can easily get by social media.

Social media is very helpful for the peoples but its negative side could not be ignored at all.it impose a huge impact on our generation especially our youth.

Teenagers are more addicted in social media, spend hours on social media and loose interest in healthy activities is one of the drawbacks of social media. Reliability & Authenticity of the data is also negative aspect of social media. Friendship on social media with unknown peoples is very common on social media in teenagers, & they were exploited because of their immaturity.

Word Addiction we can rightly use for social media, peoples especially teenagers so involved in this that they even don’t know who is sitting in front of them, how many hours they spent already on it, what’s the time now, is it late night, all these things lead to lose valuable sleep, moodiness, a drop-in grade, and overeating, as well as exacerbate existing problems like depression, anxiety.

Social media has created distance among people in the home. Social media is both a breakthrough in mass communication and a threat to human relationships.

There are a lot of websites out there. This addiction to social media could disrupt other worthwhile activities like concentrating on schoolwork, reading or engaging in sports. The heaviest social media users admit to checking their social media feeds more than 100 times a day, sometimes even during studies hours.

In term of legislative, legal and judicial development on freedom of expressions, right to information and digital rights in Pakistan, 2017 remained a year characterized by some good developments and key expectations that did not materialize. Irrespective of the short comings of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), the federal government fell short of it's commitment to mechanize it's implementation by failing to either establish any independent forensic laboratory or the committed 10 "cyber crime police stations" to provide the relevant authorities expert opinion before the court or investigation and prosecution of the offences under this act. Result if this is that throughout the whole year, the quantum of pending complaints continued to increase without them being resolved. The authority designated to lead implementation of this Act, the Federal Investigation Agency, continued to struggle in dealing with the rises number of cases due to its limited resources. As required by this Act, the FIA fail in producing the two biannual progress report on the implementation of the Act in 2017.

To sum up the topic I will say that that there are so many advantages of social media but its negative side could not be ignored, awareness among teenagers by parents & awareness campaign in school colleges can be very helpful.

Social media is damaging to the mental health of teens. Teens are using social media to connect and create friendship with others. Now-a-days it is very difficult to distinguish between real world and virtual world. Facebook Instagram snapchat and WhatsApp this is the virtual world. The use of social networking sites has the potential to irritate mental health like depression, addiction, problems falling asleep and negative interactions. Modern teens are learning to do most of their communication while looking at a screen, not another person.

Teens spend so many hours on social mediathat they begin to lose valuable sleep. Consequently, this sleep loss can lead to moodiness, a drop-in grade, and overeating, as well as exacerbate existing problems like depression, anxiety.
