The Struggle to Raise Our Living Standard as a Nation Starts at Classroom

(Nageen Ahmed, Sargodha)

Today, every nation is struggling to raise its living standard and to live a better life in the world; they have raised their status from a caveman to spaceman. But we Pakistani are tangled in many internal problems i.e. corruption, violence , smuggling, terrorism, food security crisis, declining and flattering economy, omnipresent social disorder all have played their part in weakening our country and tearing the fabric of our society.

Prof.Martin S. Dwarkin in his book “DEWEY EDUCATION” writes: “Education is mans, most formidable tool for survival. It is said that there are three main techniques through which we can solve our problems. First, REVOLUTION, second, WAR and third EDUCATION. But education is on the top it prepares a man both for the period of WAR and PEACE. But unfortunately our education system in Pakistan is a PLAY TOY. It is engaging a student in learning about distant and great things but he has little interest in knowing little but important things around him. He is busy in cramming the character of great peoples but fails to understand his own character. The student is asked to read the lesson from books but not from the Life. In short words our Education System is filling Empty Vessels (mind) with some figures and theories but not with Wisdom.

Education is the only solution to all the problems that Pakistan is tangled in nowadays. It is the only panacea which can pave the way for the solution of all the problems prevailing in almost every field of life. So it is the need of hour to bring changes in our education system if we want to compete with the world which is moving very fast in this direction.
