Service to mankind (English Article)

Father Damien’s supreme
lifelong sacrifice, fulfilling the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of
those suffering the incurable disease of leprosy in the leper colony by devoting
his soul till the last breadth of his life. His unwavering commitment ensured
patients that they are not alone in this entire world to face the horrendous
disease leading to death. Damien never lost sight of his life's purpose, despite
the myriad of adversities and after all the same deadly disease overcame him
ending up his service to mankind with his own life.
Whether it is the services of father Damien, Mother Teresa’s struggle to
alleviate poverty, Abdul Sattar Edhi’s world's largest ambulance service
providing 24-hour emergency assistance or it is Nelson Mandela guiding South
Africa from the shackles of an apartheid practice or some other ascetic and
philanthropist figures showing concerns for the welfare of humanity; still they
are not even an iota when violence of humanity, and brutal mass killing are
continued blatantly on the part of so called humanitarian countries showing
their ominous intentions, being witnessed across the world. Nevertheless,
observing our own bizarre attitude & inclination in the light of following adage
‘charity begins at home’ gestures critically & alarmingly towards our inhuman
behavior, because the way majority of 21st century Muslims of this modern world
is leading its life, depicts this notion that, quantity of Muslims has been
multiplying but unfortunately humanity is going extinct because we have jungles
in the name of cities and beasts in the name of humans; In our callous and
indifferent society when someone is badly assaulted and humiliated in public,
others get actively occupied in capturing video footages of embarrassed &
helpless individual. Even having seen the women being victimized, Muslims feel
no scruple about it. So far as the role of our police is concerned; no amount of
condemnations are suffice for them as the worst ever unfortunate incident of
Model Town is no less enigmatic question mark upon their credibility.
In short, desensitization and dehumanization of all humans, as a whole, has
reached to such an extent from where humanity just witnesses the show of human’s
extreme distress and wretchedness simply hovering around victims. Each act of
this two-legged creature bears great similarities with the quadruped creature
and a series of horrific & barbaric lynching and acid throwing incidents
evidently divulge that Hitler’s ideology is permeating in our Muslim society.
Whereas Islam caters to the supreme teachings of serving humanity in order to
keep the status & standard of humanity high and elevated and even emphasizes it
to be the top priority goal of Islamic life as one should be the source of
comfort & solace to others making their lives less unbearable, not a cause of
hardship and it is deemed to be the profound act of worship as what glorious
Quran says and a blessed Hadith states.
Glorious Quran:
"You are the best among all the nations that were raised for mankind for the
good of mankind-you enjoin good deeds and forbid evil. (3:110))
Blessed Hadith:
“Whoever solves someone else's problem, Allah will make things easy for him in
this world and the Hereafter.” (Sahîh Muslim: 4867)
Today our world is thirsting for peace. It lies in providing service to
humanity. The value of helping others is a universal truth. We as Muslims should
try to cultivate the habit of giving service to humanity, only for the sake of
Allah's pleasure.
