Rahul Dravid, the leader of the Indian cricket team who has surpassed and also created many remarkable records, is surely man with a difference. Dravid was born on 11th January 1973 in the city of Indore in Madhya Pradesh, India. His complete name is Rahul Sharad Dravid though he is famous with nicknames such as Jammy and The Wall, attributed to him for different reasons.Rahul Dravid has been one of the most reliable batsmen in the Indian team with his blend of technical ability and stylish strokes. His style of batting was once regarded as too slow for the one day game, but through sheer practice, original strokes and imaginative placing of the ball, he has transformed himself into an vital part of the team in the one-day internationals also. He was the batsman of the 1999 World Cup with two hundreds and the highest total. After Saurav Ganguly was dropped from the captaincy, Dravid was asked to lead the side and his reign at the top for nearly 2 years is often remembered for all the wrong reasons. With Greg Chappell as the coach of the side, Dravid was often criticized for not being authoritative enough as people often thought that it was the Australian who ran the show from behind the scenes.
