 AIOU opens admissions for spring semester

The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has opened its matriculation to PhD level admissions for the Spring Semester 2015 simultaneously across the country. Talking to the media at the Karachi Campus Regional Director Syed Tariq Hussain along with Public Relation Officer Ubaidullah Mumtaz said that admission forms and prospectuses could be obtained from the sale points at regional campuses in Hyderabad, Karachi, Dadu, Larkana City, Mithi, Sukkur, Thatta and Umerkot and the University’s coordinating offices across Sindh. Hussain said that the university has allocated Rs55 million rupees for the poor and deserving students who wish to continue their studies. They said the university spends 110 million rupees on providing fee concession to the poor and deserving students during the academic year comprising two semesters. The fee concession centers have also been established at the university’s main campus in Islamabad and regional campuses and coordinating offices around the country. The director admissions advised the students to submit their fees in the banks by themselves. Fees should be submitted in shape of bank draft as pay order will not be accepted by the AIOU, he mentioned.
