 UHS issues 1st merit list

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Wednesday issued its first selection list of candidates admitted to Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in government dental colleges of the Punjab. According to a press release, the last merit for BDS remained 85.4827 per cent. The merit has been calculated as per the weightage formula of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), adding 10 per cent of matriculation, 40 per cent of intermediate and 50 per cent of entrance test marks. Only those candidates who secured 82 per cent or above aggregate marks as per PMDC formula were eligible to apply for the admission on open merit this year. The last merit for de’Montmorency College of Dentistry Lahore is 85.5957 per cent, Dental Section of Punjab Medical College Faisalabad 85.4838, and for Nishtar Institute of Dentistry Multan was 85.4827 per cent. There are 175 open merit seats in three government dental colleges of the province. The selection list has been uploaded on UHS website www.uhs.edu.pk. Classes in dental colleges will start on December 22. The second selection list for BDS will be displayed on January 9.
