Around 10,000 candidates appeared in the pre-entry test for admission in 17
faculties of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology’s (MUET) main
campus and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto campus (Khairpur Mirs) on Sunday.
The test was conducted by pre-admission test committee headed by Prof Rasool
Bux Mahar.
According to university spokesman Imdad Soomro, for 1,800 seats, around
11,490 forms were obtained and 11,101 were submitted by candidates. Admit cards
were issued to 10,976 candidates. Results of entry test would be displayed on
Oct 28 in the university and the same would be available on the university’s
website.
MUET vice chancellor Dr Mohammad Aslam Uqaili visited the venue of the test
along with the vigilance team members, Quaid-i-Awam Engineering University,
Shaheed Benazirabad, VC Prof Dr Abdul Karim Baloch, Sindh Agriculture
University, Tandojam, vice-chancellor Prof Mujeebuddin Sahrai and others.
It was the 18th pre-entry test of MUET which had taken lead among all
universities by organising such a test for the first time in 1998.
Mr Uqaili said the number of students seeking admission in the MUET was
increasing every year. He said the MUET was counted among the 400 best
universities due to its performance and quality of education. He said that the
MUET had introduced online system of admission as well which helped students
fill in the forms easily.
