TIMERGARA: Students of private colleges bagged nine of the top ten positions
in the annual results of the higher secondary school certificate examinations
announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Malakand, on
Friday.
The board’s controller of examinations Professor Jamil Ahmad Bacha announced the
results during a function.
MPA from Upper Dir Mohammad Ali was the chief guest on the occasion.
As per the results, Kausar Ali of Allama Iqbal Model School and College, Upper
Dir, got first position in the overall HSSC exam results securing 987 marks,
Zabeehullah of Islamia Model College, Timergara, stood second with 986 marks
while Azra Jabeen of Oxford Education Academy, Batkhela and Ziauddin of
Government Degree College, Upper Dir, shared the third position obtaining 975
marks each.
Speaking on the occasion, Jamil Bacha said a total of 38,152 students appeared
in the HSSC annual examinations 2015, out of which, 23,428 were declared
successful and the passing percentage remained 62.75 per cent.
He said 18,754 students appeared in part-I examinations out of which 11,569
remained successful, and the pass percentage was 61.69 per cent. He said 19,398
students appeared in the part-II examinations, out of which 11,859 cleared the
results, while the pass percentage was 61.14 per cent.
The controller of exams said in pre-medical group, 4,184 students out of 5,472
passed the examinations and the result remained 76.46 per cent. Of the 2,900
students, 1955 cleared in the pre-engineering group and the result remained
67.42 per cent. He said 202 candidates appeared in the inter-science group, out
of which 60 were declared successful and the result remained 29.70 per cent.
In humanities group, 9,955 students appeared in the examinations, out of which
5,316 were declared successful and the result remained 53.40 per cent.
Addressing the function, MPA Mohammad Ali asked the parents and teachers to
impart quality education to children to prepare them for leading the nation. He
said cheating or using unfair means in examinations was unacceptable, and that
only those students who got success through hard work were getting jobs in the
market.
On the occasion, a walk was organised in which teachers and parents
participated.
Talking to journalists, the parents alleged the BISE, Malakand secretary and
acting chairman Dr Tariq Mehmood belonged to Haripur and ignored students from
Malakand division in different competitions.
