The Sindh government on Thursday announced to extend summer vacations for all
schools and colleges by a week owing to the threat of heavy floods and rainfall
in the province.
According to the decision of the steering committee on education, all
educational institutions were to have resumed classes on August 3, however, they
schools would now recommence on August 11.
The summary for extension was approved by the provincial chief secretary.
However, several private school’s associations in Karachi requested the
government to review the decision claiming the rainwater had not created any
problems in the metropolis.
