Fahmida , started a magazine “Awaz” but since the liberal and politically charged content of Awaz, the magazine was shut down. After this fahmida fired back and asserted that “one should be totally sincere in one's art, and uncompromising. There is something sacred about art that cannot take violation”. She became a voice for feminism as well, her famous act of raising powerful words was witnessed when she said, and “There is a right for a women to walk on the road without being harassed. Or to be able to swim, or write a love poem, like a man without being considered immoral. The discrimination is very obvious and very subtle, very cruel and always inhuman." Her poetry framed melodious and sweet form of poetry in which many subjects found a union. She loved to write.
