The Writer

Poet: Hareem
By: Hareem, Gujranwala

She had a room filled with stardust,
evident of her wanderlust.
There was a smell
of the open sea,
pictures of dragons and dynasties.

I heard voices of the old and new,
coming from a corner
of the room.
On the table stood a vault
So, I moved towards it by default

Unlocking it, I took a breath,
Looked at it for a minute or two,
She was coming back, that I knew,
Placing the box back in its set,
I soon understood.

She had the whole universe stored
inside her bedroom drawer.
