Ingredients
  1. 8 eggs
  2. Oil for frying
  3. 2 cloves garlic
  4. 1 large onion
  5. 1 green chilli
  6. 1 teaspoon ground coriander seeds
  7. Oil for frying
  8. ½ teaspoon chilli powder
  9. 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  10. 1 teaspoon ground cummin seeds
  11. ½ inch slice creamed coconut
  12. 3 tablespoons water
  13. * 1 piece tamarind, soaked in
  14. 1 tablespoon hot water
  15. Salt to taste
Method
  • * Squeeze and strain the husk, use only the water.
  • Hard-boil the eggs, peel and deep fry in hot oil till golden brown. Keep aside. Mince the garlic, onion and green chilli. Fry with the coriander in a little oil, for five minutes. Add the chili powder, poppy and cumrnin seeds and cook for one minute. Add the coconut and three (U.S. five) tablespoons water, simmer for five minutes. Put in the eggs; add the tamarind liquid and the salt. Cook for 20 minutes. Serve with rice.
