Ingredients
  1. 12 ripe, golden peaches
  2. 25 grams almonds (blanched)
  3. 25 grams pistachios
  4. 1/4 tsp saffron strands
  5. 125 grams sugar
  6. a few drops lime or orange juice
  7. silver or gold foil
Method
  • Clean, wash and dry the grapes with a piece of cloth. Grind the ginger and garlic to a paste, along with a little vinegar. Heat half the oil and add cinnamon, cardamoms, cloves and the ginger paste. Fry to a rich brown color. Add the grapes and then turmeric, garam masala, cumin, coriander and salt. Now mix in he remaining vinegar and cook till the grapes turn a little soft. Add all the nuts and remove from fire. Cool and place in a jar. Heat the remaining oil, adding the chilli powder. Mix well and remove from fire. Cool, and then pour over the grapes in the jar. This pickle can be eaten the next day.
