Ingredients
  1. 1 kg potatoes
  2. 3 thisps oil
  3. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  4. salt to taste
  5. 1 tsp sugar
  6. juice of one lemon
  7. 2 tblsps coriander leaves (chopped)
  8. 2 tblsps fresh coconut (grated)
  9. 8 green chillies (ground)
  10. a small piece of ginger (ground)
  11. 4 tblsps peanuts (roasted and coarsely pounded)
Method
  • Wash, peel and grate the potatoes, squeezing out all the water.
  • Heat the oil and throw in the cumin seeds. When they begin to crackle. Add the grated potatoes and saute on a medium fire .When the potatoes are soft, add salt. sugar, lemon juice, coriander leaves, coconut. chillies and ginger, and the roasted peanuts. Stir well. Make sure the mixture does not stick to the pan. When done, remove from fire and serve hot. (The same recipe may be used for yarn kees.)
