Ingredients
  1. 8 oz. tomatoes
  2. 1 onion
  3. 2 tablespoons vinegar
  4. 2 teaspoons chilli powder
  5. salt to taste
  6. 1 teaspoon sugar
  7. 2 tablespoons oil
  8. ½ teaspoon mustard seeds sprinkle with salt
Method
  • Scald, peel and chop the tomatoes finely. Chop the onion and combine with the tomatoes. Place in a bowl with the vinegar, chilli powder, salt and sugar. Heat oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds. As soon as they change colour combine tomato mixture with the remaining ingredients and simmer until chutney thickens. Bottle when cool.
