Strike Through Meaning

(idiomatic) To partly obliterate text by drawing a continuous line through the centre thereof, usually to indicate the deletion of an error or obsolete information.

Example:   It is useful to strike through an incorrect text, leaving it legible, to demonstrate that it is an incorrect usage.
