US registers new epicenter of COVID in Florida with 21,683 new cases

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the world stands at over 197 million, while the global death toll has surpassed 4.2 million, according to Baltimore, Maryland's Johns Hopkins University.

The US remains the worst-hit nation, confirming almost 35 million cases so far, and a death toll of 613,000.

Next is India, reporting around 31.6 million cases and over 423,000 deaths. At the same time, Brazil has confirmed around 19.9 million cases and the second-highest death toll in the world - over 556,500 fatalities.
