WB appreciates Pakistan’s efforts for managing Covid-19 crisis effectively

The World Bank has appreciated the efforts made by Pakistan for managing Covid-19 crisis, effectively. 

Hartwig Schafer, Vice President of the Bank’s South Asia Region stated in a meeting with Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar that the World Bank supports the reform agenda undertaken by the incumbent government.

He went on to state that the Bank is fully committed to providing assistance to the developing countries for procurement of Covid-19 vaccines.

During the meeting, the World Bank's role in strengthening governance and service delivery in Pakistan had been lauded by the Planning Minister.

Hartwig Schafer also lauded the efforts of the Ministry of Planning to resolve the long outstanding bottlenecks and expedite the project implementation on a fast track basis which is evident from the enhanced disbursement during the last fiscal year.
