We assure full support for taekwondo in Pakistan: KS Lee

LAHORE - World Taekwondo Asia (WTA) President Prof Kyu Seok Lee has assured his full support to Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) for promotion of the combat game. 

He shared these views during a meeting with South Asian Taekwondo Association President and Team Leader Pakistan Contingent Omar Saeed along with WTA Vice President Iftikhar Tabassum, PTF Secretary Murtaza Bangash and PTF Individual Executive member Ashfaq Ahmed at Nauhad Naufal Indoor Stadium. 

KS Lee assured his full support to Pakistan for the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) G-1 Pakistan Open with his kind wishes. “I am looking forward to seeing some great talent of taekwondo in Pakistan this year. My heartiest congratulations to President Col (r) Waseem Janjua for a great performance put up by the Pakistan team in the Asian Taekwondo Championship.”

Pakistani delegate led by Omar Saeed, on behalf of PTF President Col (r) Waseem Janjua thanked the WTA President for always supporting Pakistan taekwondo. He was briefed with plans and preparations for upcoming events. Being a President of South Asian region, Omar Saeed ensured to support the WTA for their events and thanked KS Lee for recognizing and supporting South Asian countries. He also invited the WTA president to witness the first COAS G-1 Pakistan Open in Pakistan.

The delegate also discussed the affiliation of Combaxx Sports WT Asia; which is a sports manufacturing company with good quality equipment at reasonable prices for athletes and sports federations especially Taekwondo doboks and sparring equipment. The 14th Asian Poomsae and 24th Asian Taekwondo Championship concluded with Korea winning the most medals in both the events, Pakistan won 5 silver and 2 bronze medals in total. The 2021 Beirut Open G-2 event will begin on June 20, which is a good opportunity for players as it is a ranking event to enhance their rankings.
