China has denounced the new Indo-Pacific security alliance between the United States, Britain and Australia.

Speaking at a regular press briefing in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Zhao Lijian said these three countries are severely damaging regional peace and stability, intensifying an arms race, and also damaging international nuclear non-proliferation efforts.

He said China always believes that any regional mechanism should conform to the trend of peace and development and help enhance mutual trust and cooperation.
