Turkey opposes Finnish, Swedish bids to join NATO

Turkey has opposed the Finnish and Swedish bids to join NATO.

In a statement, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused the two countries of harbouring members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, a group it views as a terrorist organization.

He also pledged to block applications from countries that have imposed sanctions on it.
