Girls clinch top positions in BSc exams

LAHORE: Girls clinched top positions in Punjab University’s BSc annual
examination 2016 whereas one position went to a boy of Bachelor of Arts.
According to the results, all the top three positions were obtained by
the girls in BSc exam. Ms Huma (roll No 15881) got overall first
position obtaining 702 marks out of 800. Zara Nasir (roll No 10473)
stood second with 699 score and Maryam Saba (roll No 23441) bagged third
position by securing 697 marks.
In BA, the first position was clinched by a boy while 2nd and 3rd
positions went to girls. Mansoor Ali (roll No 83713) got first position
with 665 marks while Faryal Shahbaz (48658) and Ms Attiqa (80127) stood
second and third by securing 660 and 655 marks, respectively.
Of 118,029 candidates, 44,450 got through with 37.66 pass percentage.
The prize-distribution ceremony will be held on Tuesday (today) at
9:30am at Al-Raazi Hall.
Punjab Educational Endowment Fund Vice Chairman Dr Muhammad Amjad Saqib
and PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran will preside over the
function, according to a spokesman.
Meanwhile, the university awarded PhD degrees to Ms Shaista Bashir in
the subject of biological sciences, Muhammad Zaman in earth and
environmental sciences and Quratul Ain in synthetic studies of condensed
pyrone derivatives.
