Tourism To Experience A Boost As Skardu Airport Gets Int’l Status

Skardu Airport has begun its international flights from 2nd December, CAA officials announced

Under the vision of PM Imran Khan, Skardu Airport has started the international flights operations. Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority announced it on Wednesday.

Skardu Airport, located at one of the world’s highest altitudes, is ready to operate international flights. This operation is expected to boost the local and international tourism in the northern region.

CAA has made this announcement turning to its official twitter account.

The authority said the initiative was in line with the PM’s Vision Master Plan to promote tourism across the country. However, initially operation would be under Visual Flight Rules (VFR).

Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Aviation Minister also endored the PM imran Khan’s statement that this development would boost the tourism and economic growth in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Airport has been one of the busiest destinations in the country in recent months.
