The United States has denied a report that it intended to leave almost one thousand troops in Syria after withdrawal from the country. General Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said in a statement that there is no change to the plan announced in February and we continue to implement the President's direction to draw down U.S. forces to a residual presence of two hundred troops. This comes after a report published in the Wall Street Journal that the United States intends to keep up to 1,000 US forces spread across the country.
