US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has suggested a role for diplomacy in determining Ukraine's future borders.

Appearing before Congress, Blinken accepted that Ukrainian forces would not be able to win back all of the territory in their sights.

He, however dismissed near-term prospects for talks between the two countries.
