WHO does not rule out COVID-19 pandemic may have been caused by lab leak

According to Johns Hopkins University, at least 175.5 million people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 so far, while the death toll from the pandemic has surpassed 3.79 million.

The US is the worst-hit country amid the pandemic, confirming over 33.4 million coronavirus cases and a death toll of around 600,000.

India, which has been suffering from a dramatic spike in infections since April, is second with a total of 29.3 million COVID-19 cases and over 367,000 deaths.

Brazil rounds out the top three, with more than 17 million cases and the second-highest death toll in the world of around 486,000.
