Single-day Covid vaccinations exceed 200,000: Asad

ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar on Wednesday said that the total number of single-day Covid-19 vaccinations had exceeded 200,000.

In a tweet, the federal minister who also heads the National Command Operation Centre (NCOC) stated that the total number of people to have registered for the vaccine had also crossed five million. The minister encouraged those over the age of 40 to register early for their jab as he reminded that safety measures should still be followed to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Pakistan reported 119 more Covid deaths and 4,113 new cases during the last 24 hours. According to the fresh statistics issued by the NCOC, 44,838 tests were conducted and positivity ratio remained 9.17 percent. With 4113 new cases, the tally has reached 841,636 while the death toll stands at 18,429, according to the NCOC.
