UN Chief calls for immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has reiterated his longstanding urgent appeal for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza.In a statement, he called for reopening of Rafah crossing immediately and for unimpeded humanitarian access throughout besieged enclave.He said escalation of Israeli bombardments in and around Rafah in southern Gaza has further impeded humanitarian access.He stressed that civilians must be respected and protected at all times.
