Bixby 2.0, a Bold Reinvention of Virtual Personal Assistant
Bixby 2.0 was unveiled late last year by Samsung. With its released
Samsung claimed that Bixby would be a great representation of “Bold
Reinvention” of virtual personal assistant for more smart experience all
over the world. While the company has been silent about its future
plans, this week at Mobile World Congress Samsung confirmed that Bixby
2.0 is well-equipped to integrate a variety of services and apps,
according to Tomsguide.com and SamMobile.com.

Moreover, Eui-Suk Chung, who is the executive vice president of Samsung,
told reporters that Bixby is equipped to recognize user’s voice. Which
means many users will be able to interact with virtual personal
assistant and get intelligent response depending on person’s
preferences.
This news is probably welcomed by those who have used Bixby in Galaxy
Note 8 and Galaxy S8 line. While Samsung has admitted that first-gen
Bixby needs some improvements and even done a few updates in Samsung
Galaxy S9, such as real-time translation, it is yet far behind Amazon
Alexa, which is still a market leader. Integrating Bixby into other
services and apps, however, might be a big leap forward.

While Samsung will not offer Bixby 2.0 in S9 that is slated to release on 16th,
March, which does not mean it will not come to handset. The company could reveal
Bixby 2.0 with Galaxy Note 9 and integrate it in Galaxy S9 and S9+ in its
software update later. It is a move company ideally makes to keep its 2 flagship
models updated, and will probably continue in year 2018. |
