Oppo A57 design and display
Oppo A57 looks familiar to F1s in terms of outlook and lower price
point. Solid metal frame body makes the appearance of the phone pretty
attractive. The matte texture of the phone gives you firm grip so you
don’t have to wrap it in a case. The home button of Oppo A57 is of
capacitive type incorporating a fingerprint sensor.
The display features a 5.2 inches IPS LCD touch screen on your Oppo A57
that brings you high end brighter and crispier HD resolution of 720 x
1280 pixels. The images displayed on the screen appear to be crystal
clear. For the protection of the touch screen from damages, a 2.5D
curved Gorilla Glass 4 technology is installed on the front panel of
Oppo A57.Colors are nicely saturated and viewing angles are good. Color
OS 3.0 platform has immensely improved the user interface making it more
vivid. The overall look is attractive and cheerful. Theming capability
is the best thing that can tweak any aspect, enabling unlocking
customization options.
On the right of Oppo A57 there is a SIM tray that accepts dual Nano SIM
cards and a micro SD card up to 256 GB. For storage expansion there is a
dedicated slot that ensures that you don’t have to compromise on using
dual SIMs. At the bottom, there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a Micro
USB port, no camera bump at the back virtually.

Oppo A57 specifications and features
The OppoA57 is powered by a mainstream Octa-core processor with Qualcomm
MSM8940 Snapdragon 435 chipset which is almost at par with that of Oppo
F1s in terms of performance. The CPU comes with a 3GB RAM and 32GB of
internal storage. Other specifications of the Oppo A57 include Bluetooth
v4.1, Wi-Fi (single band), FM radio, USB, and GPS.
The Oppo A57 runs on Color OS 3.0 based on Android v6.0 Marsh Mallow OS.
The influence of iOS is present, but it’s a bit more subtle unlike on
Vivo’s custom OS. Gestures are also present for single-handed operations
and turning off the screen. Google’s suite of apps including Duo, Face
book, Instagram, and Amazon, are also present on the Oppo A57.
Performance of Oppo A57
The Oppo A57 functions in an efficient manner, using basic apps for
social networking, emails, and games etc. The extensive usage might make
the camera area of the phone a bit warm. Average usage gives you around
1.4 GB RAM, which can run all the applications smoothly.
The fingerprint sensor feature is very quick in authentication. It can
be used to lock apps and files. Oppo A57 can stock in video files at
1080p resolution and the music player can read high- bit rate FLAC files
too. The speaker isn’t that loud on the Oppo A57 for media especially
when there’s a lot of noise but adequate for alerts and ringtones.

As far as the camera is concerned, Oppo A57’s is the same as the Oppo
F1s, with a 16-megapixel front sensor and a 13-megapixel shooter at the
back. The front cam is pretty competent in decent lighting conditions
and gives you sharp and detailed selfies. Though, the low-light clicks
taken from Oppo A57 are gritty. Another weak thing is the screen flash,
so unless the phone is pretty close to your face, don’t expect miracles
to happen. Beauty mode has a background blur filter, but the end result
is not satisfactory which can be achieved with a dedicated second camera
for depth measurement. Other significant mode on Oppo A57 include video
recording, selfie panorama, and time-lapse.
The rear camera does a fine job during day with detailed landscapes and
macros. Colors appear vibrant, low light performance is pretty average,
making details on objects dark. Video recording on Oppo A57at acceptable
quality comes at 1080p. Shooting modes include Ultra HD that can attach
4 stills together, double exposure, GIF, filters, and Expert mode.
The battery performance of Oppo A57 is decent with a non-removable
2900mAh which can last for a full day on a single charge. The HD video
loop test gave us a runtime of 12 hours and 7 minutes. There’s no fast
charging option in this phone, so the battery does a take a fair while
to fully charge. |
