First Oppo Foldable Phone Slated to Launch Next Month

According to sources, Oppo is working on its first foldable phone, which will be unveiled in November 2021. A few companies are working on new foldable smartphones, and Oppo is now one of them. Currently, Samsung holds the helm for most foldable smartphone launches. Some of them were successes, and unfortunately, some failed miserably.

Oppo's first foldable phone could be released as early as next month. On top of a Samsung LTPO panel, it is believed to sport an 8-inch primary display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This means the screen will support a variable refresh rate to preserve battery life.

Like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Huawei Mate X2, the Oppo Foldable phone could have an inward folding design. It could be equipped with a Snapdragon 888 processor. The phone will have a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 32MP front camera, and a fingerprint sensor on the side.

The smartphone is also expected to pack a 4500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. It may come pre-installed with ColorOS 12 on top of Android 12. Although the official name has yet to be revealed,Oppo is expected to brand its foldable handset Oppo X. The price hasn't been released, but one thing is certain, the device won't be cheap.
