Wear OS is the Google’s smart watch operating system which was formerly
known as Android Wear is all set to get a refreshed look today.
According to Google the main idea is to give faster access to
information along with proactive support. Wear OS, being in line with
Google Fit redesign, also provides the users the same kind of health
coaching as the Android app.
Practically, this means you can now swipe through multiple notifications
at once. Earlier, users had to go from one notification card to another,
which was although minute but full of hassle. Similar to earlier, you
bring the new notifications feed by swiping up. Tap the notification to
bring up the options, if you want to reply or take any other action.

Google Now replacement will also be incorporated in Wear OS. By swiping
right, Google Assistant will appear which can show up your flight
schedule, all significant notifications or scheduled events, and weather
updates. Similar to other assistant based interfaces, Google will
explore and use this area to help the users to discover other Assistant
features like setting timers.
It doesn’t come as a surprise for Google Fit that Wear OS is sticking to
the similar old circular design with Move Minutes and Hear points as the
Android app. The design looks perfect on a round Wear OS watch.
This is certainly not the major break from the older versions. Quality
of life improvements make it easier to use Wear OS. |
