Hands on First Impression
Huawei weaved the phone on Oleophobic coating which is a material Huawei uses for flagship phones. This coating means less smudges and finger prints. A crystal clear screen with pretty tall height is what all that catches our breath. It’s a 6.5″ Full HD+ display. The screen has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and it serves with 2340×1080 pixels resolution at the pixel density of around 397ppi. Everything is super smooth and on point in the design and display of the new Huawei Y9 Prime 2019. However the way Huawei wraps up their phones around baggy plastics puts us down a bit.
This option, if turned on, will darken the surrounding area on the left and right sides of the notch to camouflage it. It will look like as you just have a little bezel on top. It’s pretty smart for a screen to convert into different molds on a single tap. The body looks like glass but in reality is pure plastic with some protections.

Huawei Y9 2019 is equipped with latest mid-range chipset of the Kirin 710(F). With 128GB storage and 4GB RAM along with Hybrid SIM slot, the phone is worth a try.
The Y9 Prime 2019 has a pretty large battery of 4000 mAh however it doesn’t have any fast charging feature. The phone comes with triple-camera 16 MP, 8 MP (ultra-wide) and 2 MP depth sensors along with LED Flash light on the back and motorized pop-up selfie camera (16MP). Huawei Y9 Prime 2019, along with other basic sensors, packs in the gyroscope. Furthermore, the phone is equipped with Android 9.0 Pie and Huawei’s own EMUI 9.0.
