As Samsung and Google join hand to go against American giant Apple in the mini tablets market, Software giant Microsoft step up as another rival with its upcoming device Surface Mini.
Apple fans are waiting to see the new device but with the announcement of the launch of gadgets like Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Google Nexus 11, Surface Pro 2 and Surface Mini, Apple will be looking to improve its upcoming device.

All those devices specially the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 have disturbed the Apple’s share in the smartphone market and still going on with the same pace. On the other hand, first addition of Surface tablets, Surface Pro, failed to effect the Apple’s market as Galaxy Note 2 did.
But this time Microsoft have decided to bring a similar device which will go against Google Nexus and iPad mini 2 at the same time.

Screen size should be ideal that it won’t be too small same as smart phone size or not too big that it loss the identity of mini size. Surface Mini is likely to come with 7.5 inch screen with 1400 X 1050 display resolution; meanwhile, iPad mini 2 might be coming with 7.9 inch but upgraded to Retina display, resolution of 2048 X 1536.

Processor plays a vital role in the success of the device. According to rumor, the Surface Mini is expected to have new Intel chip. On the other hand Apple’s iPad mini 2 will likely to come with A7 chip.
As far as the operating system is concerned, Surface Mini will be coming with an upgraded version Window Blue 8.1. Apple have already announced to upgrade its current operating system iOS 6 to iOS 7, so we will see the iPad mini 2 with the same.
The expected price of Surface mini will starts from £260 while iPad Mini 2 to cost exactly the same as the iPad Mini.
A tech went onto say “That means for the Wi-Fi models, £269 for the 16GB version, £349 for the 32GB version and £429 for the 64GB version. We correctly guessed the price of the 128GB iPad 4, so if the iPad Mini follows the same pricing structure, a 128GB version would cost £509. Expect to pay £100 more for the equivalent Wi-Fi + Cellular model.”

The storage capacity of the Surface Mini will be 64 GB with microSD slot. The iPad mini 2 will be available in 16/32/64 and 128 GB.
As far as the release of both devices is concerned iPad mini 2 is expected to come in October this year while Surface Mini will be coming in the next year, according to rumors.
iPad mini 2 will be coming with 8 megapixel back and 2 mega pixel rare facing camera while Surface Mini expected to have 8 megapixel camera.
