Design
With its gradient color scheme, OPPO F9’s design is truly outstanding. It has a unique diamond pattern on the back, which looks pretty sophisticated. Apart from that, every design spec is standard. Fingerprint sensor is located on the rear, volume buttons on left, power button on right, and a headphone jack at the bottom. OPPO F9 comes with MicroUSB instead of USB Type-C port.
Display
Notch is another eye catching feature of OPPO F9. It is known as water drop notch and it is much smaller in size and more attractive than the typical one. The notch only houses a front-facing camera, unlike most notches that also include the speaker. The earpiece is flawlessly included into the top bezel of the phone.
Talking about the screen, it is as close to edge-to-edge with very thin bezels all around. Sharp, bright, and crispy resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels on LCD display is pretty sufficient. Screen size of 6.3-inches is large enough, comfortable to use, and pleasant to look at.
The Oppo F9 has the honor to ship with Gorilla Glass 6 panel, which is Corning’s most durable glass. It’s apparently capable of surviving an average of 15 drops from one meter.
Performance
For fluidly, smooth and faster performance, OPPO F9 runs on a Mediatek Helio P60 processor and 6GB of RAM. This makes it easier for the users to navigate through the interface, browse the internet, and run multiple applications at a time smoothly. Gaming experience on OPPO F9 is extremely irregular, as we feel Mediatek chipset is unable to keep up with it. Although OPPO’s software has gaming mode to improve game play and provide amazing gaming experience, but NO big difference is noticed yet.
Battery Performance
In terms of battery life, the Oppo F9 performs commendably well. The 3,500mAh massive battery life had plenty of juice for the OPPO F9 to comfortably last all day. Unfortunately, Oppo’s software doesn’t make it easy to estimate screen-on time statistics. The OPPO F9 is fast as flash to recharge with OPPO’s VOOC fast charging.
Camera
On the rear, the Oppo F9 is equipped with 16MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 2MP sensor for capturing depth information and portrait mode effects. It also offers a variety of features such as time lapse, AI beauty mode, slow-motion video, stickers, and Google Lens integration.
The front-facing 25 MP camera provides plenty of resolution for zooming and cropping your selfies. With attention to details, and natural skin tones, selfie photos are excellent. For beauty mode, you can adjust the intensity manually.
The rear 16MP shooter performs well in daylight or well-lit conditions. Images are detailed with good dynamic range and color schemes maintain a natural look. In low-light conditions, the image quality gets worse very quickly. The camera lacks optical image stabilization.
Software
Oppo F9 runs Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS platform. It not only changes much of the aesthetics of stock Android but tries to imitate iOS to an extent. There is a similarity in the appearance of the icons, wallpapers. Some features are pretty unintuitive. Notifications can simply be swiped away to dismiss them on stock Android, but not on ColorOS.
Price
The Oppo F9 Price in Pakistan is 39, 990 PKR, which makes it a budgeted device. Oppo F9 is a good midrange phone with outstanding design that charges at flash speed. It has no harsh flaws except for the fact that there are already phones on the market that offer more on this price range.
