OPPO R17 Neo Enters Japanese Market with In-Display Fingerprint Sensor and 25MP Camera

OPPO has recently launched another member of the mid-range Oppo R17 series of smartphones, this time in Japan.

Titled as the Oppo R17 Neo, the new entrant appears to be a variant of the OPPO K1 and R15X, which are partially based on the Oppo R17.

The key feature of this OPPO R17 Neo is its in-display fingerprint sensor, which is the first of its kind to arrive in the Japanese smart phone market.

The Oppo R17 Neo sports a 6.4-inches large screen with bright and sharp resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels Full HD+ AMOLED display with water drop notch. The handset measures 158.3 x 75.5 x 7.4 mm and weighs 156 grams. There is a 91% screen-to-body ratio, and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 coupled with Adreno 512 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of expandable internal storage.

There is a dual 16 MP and 2 MP with LED flash on the flip side. The water-drop notch is home to a 25MP camera with a couple of AI features.

The Oppo R17 Neo gets dual 4G LTE network support, a USB Type-C Port, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, and a slightly larger 3600mAh battery with OTG support.

The mid-range OPPO R17 Neo is available in Mocha Red and Astral Blue gradient color options. The R17 Neo runs on the ColorOS 5.2 UI based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
