RedMagic has launched the 12 Pro gaming phone outside China. The phone was already sold in China as the 12 Pro+. The global model cuts the charging speed and the shoulder trigger sensitivity. Prices are also higher than last year’s RedMagic 11 Pro.

Launch Date and Price
RedMagic announced the global launch on November 3. Early access sales start on November 17, with open sales from November 18.
The base model, with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, starts at $949 in the US. In Europe, prices start at €899, and UK buyers pay £799. Higher storage models go up to $1,199 in the US. Whatmobile lists an expected Pakistan price of Rs. 279,999.

What Changed for the Global Version
Wired charging drops to 80W, down from 120W on the China-only 12 Pro+. The battery stays the same size, at 8,400mAh. That is 12% bigger than the RedMagic 11 Pro’s 7,500mAh battery.
The shoulder triggers now run at a 520Hz touch rate, down from 700Hz. The phone body is also thinner, at 8.5mm.
Screen and Chip
The phone has a 6.85-inch OLED screen with 1.5K resolution and a 185Hz refresh rate. Touch sampling runs at 500Hz, with bursts up to 5000Hz. Screen brightness reaches 1,900 nits normally, and up to 5,000 nits in small spots. There is no punch hole on the display.

Inside, the phone runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, paired with RedMagic’s own RedCore R5 gaming chip and G1 display chip. It has LPDDR5T RAM and UFS 4.1 Pro storage.
Cooling System
RedMagic calls the cooling setup the AquaCore Cooling System 3.0. It combines a liquid cooling loop, a vapor chamber, and an active cooling fan that spins at 25,500 rpm. This keeps the phone cool during long gaming sessions.
Cameras and Other Features
The rear camera setup has a 50MP main lens and a 50MP ultrawide lens. The front camera is 16MP, placed under the screen. The phone has two speakers and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display. It runs Android 17 out of the box, with RedMagic OS 12 on top.
