Shoaib Malik is the Face of OPPO Reno for the ICC World Cup

The world-renowned smartphone brand OPPO has been making ripples in the Pakistani entertainment industry particularly with their marketing. Their colorful yet quirky ads and phenomenal teasers of their products have gained a steady fan following. Over time OPPO has become one of Pakistan’s house hold brand names.

OPPO has previously casted some of Pakistan’s A-listers from the entertainment industry for their TVCs. Mawra Hocane, who is seen as a symbol of youth and beauty in Pakistan, has been the face of OPPO in last year hottest selling smartphone OPPO F9 Starry Purple Edition. The millennial heart throb Nabeel Zuberi starred opposite Mawra Hocane in this TVC. Nabeel is the new sensation in the Pakistani entertainment industry who has gained popularity from his amazing acting skills and charming looks.

OPPO has also worked with Iqra Aziz for two Smartphone campaigns, A7 and F11 series. Iqra Aziz needs no introduction as she is currently the leading diva in the industry. Her most recent work with the Brand is the Eid TVC where we can see her capturing smiles around her with OPPO F11 Pro. Apart from the TVC, Iqra along with the millennial heart throb Nabeel Zuberi are seen endorsing and promoting F11 Pro in their popular season Sunno Chanda as well.

Ali Xeeshan, the chic-style Pakistani fashion designer joined hands with OPPO to promote the brand as well, but OPPO soon realized that entertainment is not the only industry Pakistanis go crazy over. OPPO has also worked with HSY. Joining hands with the fashion icons proves that OPPO indeed isthe most trendy smartphone brand out there.

Cricket is in our blood! Pakistanis have a special place in their hearts for the game. Formerly OPPO became the official partner of “Pakistan Super League” which turned out to be the best move by OPPO to date. The viewership of the last PSL jumped up to 160 million which was 78% of total viewership of Pakistan. Anticipating huge viewership numbers and reach of the ICC World Cup, the biggest event in the world of cricket. OPPO joined hands with the ICC to become its official partner of the ICC World Cup and has decided to make a Pakistani cricketer as their ambassador for the event.

This is not the first time OPPO has casted local cricketers for their ambassador position. Sarfaraz Ahmed, the captain of Pakistan’s cricket team and Hasan Ali, the young fast-paced bowler from Gujranwala, have previously been in the roles of ambassadors.  

OPPO has recently announced who will be the new ambassador for the World Cup. Shoaib Malik the veteran all-rounder has led Pakistan to countless victories around the world. The megastar is married to Sania Mirza, an Indian tennis legend which doubles Shoaib’s popularity as millions of Indian fans follow the couple’s lifestyle as well. Shoaib is loved by all for his flamboyant batting style and the ability to play under pressure. Malik is popular amongst the youth because of his sheer charisma and down to earth personality. OPPO can really benefit from this move as Malik has a very large fan base throughout the world. Having his endorsement for the brand will surely lead to greater brand equity for the OPPO, making it first choice for any local cricketing fan.
