Abu Hurairah narrated : that the Prophet said: When you pay the Zakat you have fulfilled what is required of you.

حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ دَرَّاجٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ حُجَيْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا أَدَّيْتَ زَكَاةَ مَالِكَ فَقَدْ قَضَيْتَ مَا عَلَيْكَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ الزَّكَاةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ عَلَيَّ غَيْرُهَا ؟ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا إِلَّا أَنْ تَتَطَوَّعَ . وَابْنُ حُجَيْرَةَ هُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حُجَيْرَةَ الْمَصْرِيُّ.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جب تم نے اپنے مال کی زکاۃ ادا کر دی تو جو تمہارے ذمہ فریضہ تھا اسے تم نے ادا کر دیا ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے دوسری اور سندوں سے بھی مروی ہے کہ آپ نے زکاۃ کا ذکر کیا، تو ایک شخص نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! کیا میرے اوپر اس کے علاوہ بھی کچھ ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”نہیں سوائے اس کے کہ تم بطور نفل کچھ دو“ ( یہ حدیث آگے آ رہی ہے ) ۔
