حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّاءُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، قَالَ : هِشَامٌ حَدَّثَنَا ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : كُنْتُ أَغَارُ عَلَى اللَّاتِي وَهَبْنَ أَنْفُسَهُنَّ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَقُولُ : أَتَهَبُ الْمَرْأَةُ نَفْسَهَا ، فَلَمَّا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : تُرْجِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ مِنْهُنَّ وَتُؤْوِي إِلَيْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَمَنِ ابْتَغَيْتَ مِمَّنْ عَزَلْتَ فَلا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكَ سورة الأحزاب آية 51 ، قُلْتُ : مَا أُرَى رَبَّكَ إِلَّا يُسَارِعُ فِي هَوَاكَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے زکریا بن یحییٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابواسامہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ہشام نے اپنے والد سے سن کر بیان کیا اور ان سے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا کہ   جو عورتیں اپنے نفس کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے لیے ہبہ کرنے آتی تھیں مجھے ان پر بڑی غیرت آتی تھی۔ میں کہتی کہ کیا عورت خود ہی اپنے کو کسی مرد کے لیے پیش کر سکتی ہے؟ پھر جب اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ آیت نازل کی «ترجئ من تشاء منهن وتؤوي إليك من تشاء ومن ابتغيت ممن عزلت فلا جناح عليك‏» کہ ”ان میں سے جس کو چاہیں اپنے سے دور رکھیں اور جس کو چاہیں اپنے نزدیک رکھیں اور جن کو آپ نے الگ کر رکھا تھا اس میں سے کسی کو پھر طلب کر لیں جب بھی، آپ پر کوئی گناہ نہیں ہے۔“ تو میں نے کہا کہ میں تو سمجھتی ہوں کہ آپ کا رب آپ کی مراد بلا تاخیر پوری کر دینا چاہتا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Aisha: I used to look down upon those ladies who had given themselves to Allah's Messenger and I used to say, Can a lady give herself (to a man)? But when Allah revealed: You (O Muhammad) can postpone (the turn of) whom you will of them (your wives), and you may receive any of them whom you will; and there is no blame on you if you invite one whose turn you have set aside (temporarily).' (33.51) I said (to the Prophet), I feel that your Lord hastens in fulfilling your wishes and desires.
