حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَذَا التَّسْلِيمُ ، فَكَيْفَ نُصَلِّي عَلَيْكَ ؟ قَالَ : قُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ . قَالَ أَبُو صَالِحٍ : عَنْ اللَّيْثِ : عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے لیث بن سعد نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ سے ابن الہاد نے بیان کیا، ان سے عبداللہ بن خباب نے اور ان سے ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   ہم نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ پر سلام بھیجنے کا طریقہ تو ہمیں معلوم ہو گیا ہے۔ لیکن «صلاة» ( درود ) بھیجنے کا کیا طریقہ ہے؟ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ یوں کہا کرو «اللهم صل على محمد عبدك ورسولك،‏‏‏‏ كما صليت على آل إبراهيم،‏‏‏‏ وبارك على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما باركت على إبراهيم» ۔ ابوصالح نے بیان کیا کہ اور ان سے لیث بن سعد نے ( ان الفاظ کے ساتھ ) «على محمد وعلى آل محمد،‏‏‏‏ كما باركت على آل إبراهيم» کے الفاظ روایت کئے ہیں۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: We said, O Allah's Messenger ! (We know) this greeting (to you) but how shall we invoke Allah for you? He said, Say! Allahumma salli ala Muhammadin `Abdika wa rasulika kama- sallaita 'ala all Ibrahim wa barik ala Muhammadin wa'ala all Muhammadin kama barakta 'ala all Ibrahim.' Al-Laith said: 'Ala Muhammadin wa 'ala all Muhammadin kama barakta ala all Ibrahim.
