حَدَّثَنَا هَدَّابُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ لِأُبَيٍّ: «إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ» قَالَ: آللَّهُ سَمَّانِي لَكَ؟ قَالَ: «اللهُ سَمَّاكَ لِي» قَالَ فَجَعَلَ أُبَيٌّ يَبْكِي

Urdu Translation

  ہمام نے کہا : ہمیں قتادہ نے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے حدیث بیان کی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے حضرت ابی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے فرمایا؛ " اللہ عزوجل نے مجھے حکم دیا ہے کہ میں تمھارے سامنے قرآن مجید پڑھوں ۔ " حضرت ابی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے کہا : کیا اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ سے میرا نام لے کرکہا؟آپ نے فرمایا : " اللہ تعالیٰ نے میرے سامنے تمھارا نام لیا ۔ " اس پر حضرت ابی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ پر گریہ طاری ہوگیا ۔

English Translation

Anas b. Malik reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said to Ubayy: Verily Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, has commanded me to recite the Qur'an to you, whereupon he said: (Has) Allah mentioned my name to you? He said: Allah has mentioned your name to me. Thereupon he began to shed tears (of joy)
