حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى. ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ كَانَ عِنْدَ بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِحْدَى أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَعَ خَادِمِهَا بِقَصْعَةٍ فِيهَا طَعَامٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَضَرَبَتْ بِيَدِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَكَسَرَتِ الْقَصْعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى:‏‏‏‏ فَأَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْكِسْرَتَيْنِ فَضَمَّ إِحْدَاهُمَا إِلَى الْأُخْرَى فَجَعَلَ يَجْمَعُ فِيهَا الطَّعَامَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ غَارَتْ أُمُّكُمْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏زَادَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كُلُوا فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى جَاءَتْ قَصْعَتُهَا الَّتِي فِي بَيْتِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ رَجَعْنَا إِلَى لَفْظِ حَدِيثِ مُسَدَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُلُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحَبَسَ الرَّسُولَ وَالْقَصْعَةَ حَتَّى فَرَغُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَدَفَعَ الْقَصْعَةَ الصَّحِيحَةَ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحَبَسَ الْمَكْسُورَةَ فِي بَيْتِهِ.

Urdu Translation

انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنی کسی بیوی کے پاس تھے، امہات المؤمنین میں سے ایک نے اپنے خادم کے ہاتھ آپ کے پاس ایک پیالے میں کھانا رکھ کر بھیجا، تو اس بیوی نے ( جس کے گھر میں آپ تھے ) ہاتھ مار کر پیالہ توڑ دیا ( وہ دو ٹکڑے ہو گیا ) ، ابن مثنیٰ کہتے ہیں: نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دونوں ٹکڑوں کو اٹھا لیا اور ایک کو دوسرے سے ملا کر پیالے کی شکل دے لی، اور اس میں کھانا اٹھا کر رکھنے لگے اور فرمانے لگے: تمہاری ماں کو غیرت آ گئی ابن مثنیٰ نے اضافہ کیا ہے ( کہ آپ نے فرمایا: کھاؤ تو لوگ کھانے لگے، یہاں تک کہ جس گھر میں آپ موجود تھے اس گھر سے کھانے کا پیالہ آیا ( اب ہم پھر مسدد کی حدیث کی طرف واپس لوٹ رہے ہیں ) آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کھاؤ اور خادم کو ( جو کھانا لے کر آیا تھا ) اور پیالے کو روکے رکھا، یہاں تک کہ لوگ کھانا کھا کر فارغ ہوئے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے صحیح و سالم پیالہ قاصد کو پکڑا دیا ( کہ یہ لے کر جاؤ اور دے دو ) اور ٹوٹا ہوا پیالہ اپنے اس گھر میں روک لیا ( جس میں آپ قیام فرما تھے ) ۔

English Translation

Anas said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was with one of his wives. One of the Mothers of faithful sent a bowl containing food through a servant of hers. She struck with her hand and broke the bowl. Ibn al-Muthanna's version has: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم took the pieces of the bowl, and joined one with the other, and began to collect the food in it, saying: Your mother is jealous. Ibn al-Muthanna added: Eat. They ate till a bowl of the one in whose house he was brought. Abu Dawud said: We then returned to the version of the tradition of Musaddad: He said: Eat. He detained the servant and the bowl till they were free. Then he returned the sound bowl to the messenger and detained the broken one (bowl) in his house.
