WhatsApp has announces the addition of default disappearing messages for all fresh chats to its privacy control tools. With the introduction of default disappearing messages, the meta-owned instant messaging also added two new durations. Now it is allowing users to schedule messages to vanish after 24 hours or 90 days.
How to Enable WhatsApp Disappearing Messages?
On iOS and Android devices, go to WhatsApp Settings, touch Account > Privacy > Default message timer. You can set a duration to enable disappearing messages by default all new one-to-one chats. However, if you wish to have permanent access to one of your chats in the future, you can go back to regular chats, which do not allow disappearing messages.
Mark Zuckerberg also shares a screenshot of his chat with his wife, where the default disappearing message feature is enable.
Moreover, it cautions that activating WhatsApp new feature won’t prevent them from being transmit to others by untrustworthy people. Since they can still be saved by copying or taking a screenshot before being removed from the conversation.
