Moeen Ali decides to take retirement from Test Cricket

England all-rounder Moeen Ali has decided to retire from Test cricket. He has informed the team’s head coach Chris Silverwood and captain Joe Root about his decision to retire.

According to the reports, Moeen Ali will now continue only white ball cricket and franchise cricket. However, he was uncomfortable with the prospect of more time away from home in the upcoming months due to a likely member of both the Ashes and T20 World Cup squads.

Moeen has represented England in 64 Test matches, scoring 2914 runs, including 5 centuries and 14 half-centuries, while he also took 195 wickets. Currently he is in UAE for the Indian Premier League where he will play for the Chennai Super Kings.
