Saif Ali Khan hospitalised after knife attack

The Adipurush star confronted the burglars in the children’s room when he was stabbed six times, Indian media reported. Saif is said to have suffered injuries to his neck and spine.

He was taken to Lilavati Hospital and Research Center at 3:30 AM where the Chief Operating Officer confirmed that the actor sustained six stabs, with two serious injuries, including one near his spine.

As per reports, Saif's wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan and their children are safe and escaped the scenes unharmed.

"There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan's residence,” a statement issued by the actor's team read.

It added, “He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation."

In another statement issued by Kareena Kapoor Khan, the star assured fans that she and the kids are doing fine after the attack while requesting for privacy from fans.

“There was an attempted burglary in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khans residence last night,” it read. “Saif had an injury on his arm for which is in hospital, undergoing a procedure.”

“The rest of the family is doing fine. We request media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the Police is already doing their due investigations. Thank you all for your concern."
