Zaheer Khan has been a premiere bowler for India since making his debut against Kenya in 2000. Tall and well-built Zaheer has the ability to swing the ball both ways. Like the Pakistani greats Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, Zaheer can also swing the old ball, which is popularly known as reverse swing.
He announced his entrance at the international level at the mini World Cup in Kenya in 2000 where he bowled superbly.The left-arm seamer struggled to establish himself as a new-ball bowler in his initial days, but now is at the front of a new pace generation. Although injuries have troubled him for a considerable part of his career, Zaheer has always hit back with performances in county cricket. He has lost some pace from his earlier days but his yorkers are still as deadly.Zaheer Khan played a major part in India’s Test series victories in England and West Indies. After Kapil Dev and Srinath, many have looked at Zaheer to carry the Indian pace attack to a new height.
