Should we throw batteries or not?

You shouldn’t throw away any battery because they don’t dispose, you heard it often right. But alkaline batteries can be thrown as they toss into trash and get disposed eventually. So throwing or not throwing? As per reports, it was safe to throw out batteries for over 20 years. Up until the mid-90s, regular batteries now consisted of mercury that is highly poisonous. So as have progressed with safer materials, alkaline batteries are actually safe to throw away with garbage. However, be aware of the mercury batteries.
