Adeel Hashmi is a Pakistani actor, comedian, filmmaker, social worker, and screenwriter. He is known for his famous Ufone commercials, which earned him the nickname “the Ufone guy.” Over the years, he has become known for his creative work in Pakistani arts and culture and his comical roles in Teen Bata Teen and Ulta Saeeda.

Adeel Hashmi father is Dr. Humair Hashmi, a renowned educationist, psychologist, and writer from Pakistan. He was known as one of Pakistan’s pioneering psychologists. He contributed to literature through his books Verses from My Heart and The Four Dervishes of Lahore. His research appeared in international journals and was even included in psychology textbooks in the USA and Canada.
Adeel Hashmi father worked at leading institutions, including Government College University Lahore, Lahore School of Economics, and Imperial College of Business Studies. He was deeply interested in art, culture, politics, and poetry and wrote for both Pakistani and international publications. Dr. Humair Hashmi passed away on March 19, 2025, at the age of 83 and was laid to rest at Model Town Graveyard.
Adeel Hashmi Mother
Adeel Hashmi mother is Muneeza Hashmi, a well-known broadcaster, producer, and actress with over four decades of media experience. She was born in 1946 in Shimla, India, before migrating with her family to Lahore during the partition of 1947. She is the younger daughter of the legendary poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Alys Faiz and the younger sister of painter and actress Salima Hashmi.
Adeel Hashmi mother had two master’s degrees, one from the University of the Punjab and another in education from the University of Hawaii. She began her career at Pakistan Television (PTV) in 1967 as an assistant producer and worked her way up to general manager of the Lahore PTV station in 1998. She acted in classic dramas written by Ashfaq Ahmed and Bano Qudsia and appeared in Beyond the Last Mountain (1976) and Paani Per Likha Tha (1993). Muneeza has also been president of the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association (now the Public Media Alliance) and currently serves as the chairperson of the Lahore Arts Council.

There is no Adeel Hashmi sister, as he only has a brother, Ali Madeeh Hashmi. However, the Adeel Hashmi sister relation is often misunderstood because of his maternal cousin, Mira Hashmi. She is also a well-known television actress, host, and director. Mira is the daughter of Adeel’s aunt, Salima Hashmi.
