Ajit Kumar Doval is a retired Indian IPS officer, spymaster, and the longest-serving National Security Advisor of India. He has been serving his third consecutive five-year term since 2014. He is the first NSA to hold a cabinet minister rank.

His 33-year intelligence career included undercover operations in Pakistan for seven years, counterinsurgency work in Punjab and Mizoram, and leading all 15 hijacking negotiations involving Indian Airlines aircraft.
